CORE VALUES

Close to the Master

Vision for the Great Commission: Taking the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all nations, especially the unreached peoples of the world.

We are mandated by our Lord to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to all nations with the goal of providing closure to unreached peoples of the world.

Dependence on God: Trusting God to provide every resource to carry out this radio ministry

We believe God will provide every resource necessary to carrying out His commission.

Further, we seek to bring the unadulterated gospel of Christ to all free from undue influence of the world.

As such we are a non-commercial radio network relying on God’s people for prayer and financial assistance.

Spiritual Disciplines: Showing utter dependence on God by praying and studying His Word

We strive to honor God in all things.

Prayer and the study of the Word assure us of a clear focus and a reliance on God apart from which God is not pleased and we stand vulnerable against the schemes of the evil one.

Close to the Listeners

Primarily Radio: Using radio and related follow-up ministries to bring the Good News to unreached peoples and nurture them in the Christian faith.

God has providentially opened doors to bring the good news of salvation to unreached peoples through the medium of radio.

More than any equipment, radio remains the most pervasive and persuasive mass medium in the world.

While technology has changed the landscape of the world, FEBC is committed to radio and related follow-up ministries as an effective means of evangelism and training in the Christian faith.

Cultural Sensitivity and Relevance: Communicating the Gospel in the language and form that listeners understand best.

We are committed to analyze world needs sensitively so that real needs are met and the gospel is communicated in the language and form that listeners best understand.

Close to the Partners

Interdenominational: Subscribing to a common Statement of Faith which allows unity in essentials, liberty in non-essentials and love above all of these.

We are committed to remain inter-denominational, faithfully subscribing to a common statement of faith which allows unity in essentials, liberty in non-essentials and love in all.

Integrity: Practicing good stewardship and proper management of financial resources

FEBC is committed to financial integrity in the areas of our relationship with our partners, in practicing good stewardship, and in the management of financial resources.

Close to One Another

National Leadership: Building up local leadership and equipping them to reach their own

We are committed to enabling people to reach their own.

We encourage each local office of FEBC to build up local leadership, establish local boards and seek local support for local activities.

Autonomy with Accountability: Maintaining international and national cooperation between autonomous local bodies and developing mutual trust and accountability in joint submission before God

We are committed to international and national cooperation between autonomous local bodies.

Autonomous groups shall operate in a way that is non-competitive, and works toward building a common ministry, and developing mutual trust and accountability in joint submission before God.

Autonomous bodies shall be committed to being accountable to each other for the stewardship of the ministry.

Community: Working as a unique family where each member is treated with dignity and respect

We seek to keep each other abreast through constant and regular communication.

We are a unique family and each member is treated with dignity and respect.

We strive to connect with each other and know what the right hand and left hand are doing.

FEBC Corporate Slogan: “Working Together to be Heard”

“Bayanihan Upang Mapakinggan” (Romans 10:17)

This Corporate Slogan is brought closer to the Operations by the following corollary statements of the Service Units:

FEBC CORPORATE OFFICES Vision Statement:

“Mind on the Mission, Better Corporate and Broadcast Practice, More for the Master”

FEBC DOMESTIC SERVICES Vision Statement:

“FEBC Phils. to ensure that every Filipino has access to Christian programs in their heart language even in areas and regions we have not yet covered and where there is minimal or no Christian witness.”

FEBC OVERSEAS SERVICES Vision Statement:

“FEBC Phils. – Overseas Service is to become the transmission organization of choice for Christian radio broadcasting into South East Asia and China through  clear, consistent, and effective transmission allowing  Christian Program Producers to deliver their programs to their targeted listeners in the region.”

FEBC’s Five Broadcast Values:

Content (Message): listeners to hear the gospel with authority, accuracy, clarity,  and relevance rooted in the Bible.  These include programs designed to evangelize, edify, and educate (inform), with the end goal of presenting listeners complete in Christ.  Where Evangelizing of the Non-believers will constitute 75% of the broadcast while 25% will be devoted to Edification and Nurture of the Believers. This will include the appropriateness of style and competence of presentation over the airwaves.

Clarity (Broadcast and Quality): listeners to hear programs clearly and sharply.

Coverage (Reach): our message is heard widely including both national and international audiences; linguistic and demographic audiences; particularly needy areas. Remember that we will use Radio primarily and other emerging media as appropriate (i.e. internet, satellite, program distribution, etc.).

Credibility (Media Influence and Christian Witness): listeners recognize the depth of our voice through our character as well as non-broadcast activities designed to supplement our broadcasts. We see FEBC as “A Credible Voice in the Media Industry and the Community”. We also look at Credibility from the aspect of our Christian witness in a fast-paced secular world.

Consistency (Reliability and Sustainability and Christian Walk): listeners have a reliable broadcast with a consistent quality of signal and program content. We understand that our broadcast consistency requires individual and corporate unity of purpose and practice. We also understand this to mean our consistency with our message and practice on a daily basis.

Simply put, if the Directions or Objectives of FEBC Philippines do not fall in any of the FEBC 5-C Values then this is not our priority and should be removed or reconstituted to fall within our priorities.

Hi, I am a 70 year old New Zealander now residing in Quezon City. For about 15 years from about 1969 I prepared the 15 minute weekly gospel programme “Moment for Meditation” which FEBC Manila broadcst to the India and Pacific beams each week. Several times I met Bob Bowman when he came to New Zealand.

On 26 December 2011 I re-married to an ex YWAM missionary Filipino lady, Jovita Antenor. We are now both full-time misionaries. Can we come to visit FEBC Manila sometime
    soon?

For the last 10.5 years I was teaching English in Ilsan, South Korea. I have the gift of healing and for the last 10 years I began and helped lead a healing and evangelistic team in a hospital visiting ministry. The Lord’s blessing upon this ministry has been truly exceptional.

I also began, taught and preached at the Childrens English Ministry services at the Kwangsung Presbyterian Church which I attended. About 150 children attend 2 services.

These ministries have been so successful that I have been commissioned as (Korean) missionary of Kwangsung Church. This is an honour given to very few foreigners in Korea, I believe.

Kwangsung church has grown to having 4 Sunday morning adult services and about 7,000 attending all services on a Sunday.

Jovita and I have began a Touch From the Lord Mobile Ministry (TFLMM) where we are going from place-to-place and country-to-country to pray for those whom the Lord puts before us to minister to. We also teach, preach and counsel in a shared ministry. Already the Lord is blessing this ministry. Halleluyah!!

One important part of this mninistry is to teach as many Christians as possible how to pray for sick people.

I have been wondering whether my involvement with FEBC Manila may possibly begin again? Could we visit sometime to discuss this.

    My handphone is 0939 121-8908.

    Blessings

    Barry and Jovita Matin
